Ashley served as the co-chair of the Family Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and is on the Board of Governors for the Japanese American Bar Association.

Prior to her admission to the bar, Ashley gained extensive knowledge and experience in family law.  While she was an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University, she volunteered at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles assisting victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders.  After college, Ashley attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.  During law school, Ashley volunteered in the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco and competed at the National Family Law Moot Court Competition in Albany, New York.

Ashley also served as a teaching assistant in Legal Research and Writing and received the CALI award in her Advanced Legal Writing course.  During her last year of law school, Ashley clerked for Walzer Melcher & Yoda.
