Cheryl Hickey:

Oh baby, baby, it’s the year of Britney, living it up after that Free Britney victory.

In some ways it’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year because it felt like we were fighting for so many years for that to happen.

Sangita Patel:

And from new music to marriage, we’re celebrating along with the pop star as she starts her next chapter.

What we saw from her wedding was that all of this happiness finally came for her.

Cheryl Hickey:

Welcome to a very special edition of ET Canada, the year of Britney. After 13 years of isolation under conservatorship that was finally broken, Britney Spears really did break free.

Sangita Patel:

Yeah, it was so great to see the old Britney back. She was dancing, recording again, and most importantly, really seemed to be enjoying life.

Cheryl Hickey:

Yes, and we loved it. And things really hit a high note when her man, Sam Ashgari, popped the big question.

Jen Kirsch:

So I think this engagement was such a celebratory thing for fans everywhere. It was this idea that she’s moving forward despite being put in this box, in this situation for so long. So there was this excitement. I feel like a lot of people felt like they were the ones getting proposed to because we want to see Britney happy and she is posted since then and she said that she was quite literally unable to speak and she lost her breath. So it clearly was a very emotional day for Britney.

Cheryl Hickey:

Sadly though, even Britney couldn’t avoid a wedding crasher.

“So Jason Alexander came to Britney’s wedding and entered the property without permission. And when he was asked to leave, he continued going into the house and he got into a physical altercation with security and he was arrested and booked and held for quite some time in the Ventura County Jail under criminal charges,” explains top family law attorney Christopher C. Melcher of Walzer Melcher Yoda LLP acclaimed high net worth family law firm.
